Despite its generic-sounding name, this site exclusively offers Christian stock photos. The selection is somewhat limited, but it’s broken into these helpful categories: Bible study, Christmas, church life, creation, Easter, prayer, worship, other. What kinds of media they have:

  • Stock photos

Unsplash

Unsplash is one of the most popular sites for free stock photos (Christian or otherwise). Everyone knows about it, and while they have a lot of photos, they’ve become rather ubiquitous. For example, how many times have you seen this church? Unsplash is a great place to find a stock photo in a pinch. But when you use an Unsplash photo, bear in mind that there’s a good chance your congregation has seen it somewhere else before. What kinds of media they have:

  • Stock photos

Pexels

Pexels isn’t quite as popular as Unsplash, but there’s a lot of overlap in their library of photos. You’ll be sure to find some of the same stock images on both sites, but the tagging system is a little different, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for on one, it’s still often worth trying the other. The Stocks goes one step further than Church Media Spot: rather than just listing various media providers, you can actually search them right on this site. • Colors
  • Icons
  • Mockups
  • Fonts

While it’s something that appears on screen for only a brief moment, there is more to a lower third than you think. A combination of graphical elements and texts, it is another useful way to display more information to your audience.

If used correctly, a lower third is supposed to add more meaning to the main visual by providing more information about the subject. Be it a place, name, or any other information; the lower third is a useful filmmaking tool.

Professional and well made lower thirds can be pricey to make. Below we will list top 5 sites to download free lower third templates that you can use for your video projects, including lower thirds for Premiere Pro, After Effects and Sony Vegas Pro.

Let’s delve right into it.

1. VideoBlocks

VideoBlocks.com is a subscription-based service that offers limitless stock or library footage, motion background, lower third templates, special effects and other downloads to its members.

They have a catalogue of lower third collections that include various genres ranging from business, cinematic, news and others.

Their templates are also royalty-free and come with no hidden charges attached.

However, the only way to access the huge collection of lower third templates on VideoBlocks is by registering for a free 7-day trial.

Note: You will be asked to create a user profile and also required to add your credit card details. However, you will not be immediately charged. Always remember that you can unsubscribe from the service anytime you please during the trial period. Also, ensure you cancel your trial before it elapses if you do not want to be charged the normal monthly fee.

During this 7-day trial period, you can access and download any content from their full Member Library. This trial period gives you access to more than 100,000 high-quality stock video clips and lower third templates in various genres and categories.

You can keep any content downloaded even after the trial period elapses and all content downloaded from the member library are 100% royalty free.

2. YouTube

YouTube has one of the biggest catalogues for downloading high-quality lower third templates. A lot of YouTube channels frequently upload professional lower thirds.

The icing on the cake is the fact that most of them are willing to provide them at no charge. With a little digging and searching you can find some great templates for your project.

Below are some of my favorite go-to YouTube channels for professional lower third templates.

  1. Vaibhav Kapoor

You can find 24 Free customizable lower thirds that can be used for After Effects here, or check here for 15 Free Animated Lower Thirds for Premiere. You can customize the stylish text to your own liking and logos can be added to the graphics.

Simply click the button on the free packs page to download the free pack. A free template and a text to help you find the download links for the fonts used in the template will be included in the download file.

4. Videezy

Videezy is an open community where amateur videographers and photographers can share content. On Videezy, you can find a huge collection of background animations, HD videos, lower thirds templates and b-rolls created by very talented film enthusiasts from across the globe.

Although most videos on Videezy are free to download, some of them – usually 4k videos – are labelled Pro, and you would need to spend ‘credits’ before you can download them. At the time of writing, one credit = $19, plus other packages that that will prove your money’s worth.

Again, it is also worth noting that some of the free videos may be restricted for certain uses (e.g. commercial). So be sure to check every free template properly for their rights and restrictions to avoid any potential legal tussle.
